                                ORDINANCE NO. 9709
                   
                   
                   AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE 
                   HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS 
                   ($130,000.00) FROM THE CONTINGENCY FUND 
                   ESTABLISHED IN ORDINANCE NO. 9585, THE 
                   BUDGET ORDINANCE, TO THE CLAIMS AND TORT 
                   LIABILITY FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF SETTLING 
                   CLAIMS MADE FOR THE DEATH OF JOANN PENNY.
                   
                   
                                                     
                   
                   
       	    	 SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 
       CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
       appropriated the sum of $130,000.00 from the Contingency Fund 
       established in Ordinance No. 9585, the Budget Ordinance, to the 
       Claims and Tort Liability Fund for the purpose of settling claims 
       made for the death of Joann Penny.
       	    	 SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance 
       shall be effective two (2) weeks from and after its passage as 
       provided by law.
